Puzzle games can be a lot of fun to play especially if you know what you’re doing as they all come down to getting the best strategy and sticking to it. That being said, if for some reason you can’t work out a viable winning strategy, these games can be ruthless and tend to frustrate you more than any other genre of gaming. 2048 is a very good example of this as if you don’t have a good strategy on how to deal with the blocks, the game ensures that you end with a 128 tile at max. Of course, you can always take a little inspiration from other sources to help you out and that’s exactly what we are planning to do by sharing some of our top 2048 tips & tricks.

2048 Tips & Tricks

Big Tiles Go in the Corner:

A very good strategy to complete a 2048 game is to make the big tile go into a corner and make it stay there. You can pick any corner of your choice. The trick is to fill the lane with the big tile in descending order of tiles and then to just not move it unless you have no other moves left on the board.

Be Patient and Think:

Unlike most puzzle games, 2048 doesn’t have any time constraints for you to worry about. So, it generally a good idea to think your moves through and plan ahead. Know how each move will affect the board and devise a way so that every new tile introduced to the board works in your favor.

Chase the Small Tiles:

Don’t give into temptation and let the large tiles be. If you try to combine the large tiles, chances are that you’ll end up with a lot of uncombined small tiles which will eventually lead you towards a board which doesn’t have any good moves left. Just let the bigger tiles be and soon enough they’ll match up on their own.

Go for Multiple Tiles:

Always prefer the move which will combine multiple tiles in a single swipe. These moves are great for clearing the board and getting that extra bit of space to wiggle around in.

Play the Board:

Yes, you should know how the board works and how creating any space will affect your game. When you’re getting near a full board, only make those spaces you know you can handle. It’s ok to waste one or two moves as long as you’re in charge!

Hope our simple 2048 tips & tricks will help you devise your very own working strategy that will make getting that sweet 2048 tile a bit easier.
