Review: Debris Cascade – Avoid Junk and Stay in Orbit

Debris Castle Review

Endless runner games can be a lot of fun to play but let’s face it, they do tend to become a tad bit repetitive as the only difficulty in the game does not come through the addition of or randomness of the obstacles but rather by just the speed at which they come towards you. However, they still are a lot of fun to play but it’s not every day that you come across a game in this genre that tends to challenge the set dogmas and simply change how the game evolves its difficulty level. This in a way is how we can aptly summarize Debris Cascade in our review.

Review: Debris Cascade – Avoid Junk and Stay in Orbit

Debris Cascade is an endless runner game in which you control a satellite floating around the Earth. The goal of the game is to survive for as long as possible by avoiding various space debris and trash that might knock you off your orbit. The thing which sets this game apart from every other game in the genre is its somewhat realistic physics engine. Not only does the debris float around but it also has the ability to change direction after a collision, thus making things much more interesting and real.

Of course, since this is after all a survival game, it tends to gets tougher as time passes but it does manage to be retain its addictive nature. Debris Cascade isn’t as punishing as most endless runner games as your satellite can take up to three hits before it is destroyed thus allowing you to make a few mistakes here and there. That being said, once your satellite does take a hit, a small piece breaks off and becomes part of the debris that can actually hit you again.

With simplistic graphics and fluid controls, the game just might end up consuming hours at end. Though to be fairly honest, I do wish there was a bit more detail added to the actual satellite making the whole experience a bit more immersive. But in the game’s defense, it was just recently released, so there’s a lot of room for it to grow.

To sum it up, if you’re a fan of the games pertaining to the endless runner genre, I do suggest that you think about trying Debris Cascade out especially if you’re getting tired of the gameplay offered by the regular endless runner games such as Jetpack Joyride, Temple Run etc.
