The app is somewhat limited in its ability as it only teaches 6 languages, those being: Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian and English. For those of you who noticed, yes, these languages are all Latin based.

The app tries to teach its users by conducting various fun quizzes and tests in such a way that people of all ages can enjoy the process of learning an alien language. With shiny achievements and a quiz format to make things more attractive than they are, it won’t be long till you’ll be spending countless hours using the app.

The design of the app is exquisite and is done in such a way that the only prerequisite for you to learn any language is the requirement for you to know how to listen, read and repeat. Navigation through the app is also easy and allows users the choice to pick up a language from any stage of mastery, be it beginner, novice or even expert.

While all of this is great, the best feature of the app is that not only Duolingo free to use but it also doesn’t have any in app ads whatsoever as well. Yes, there are no hidden gimmicks or annoying ads to bother you while you try to learn a new language.
