Hercules: The Official Game is heavily inspired by and is coming in the lines of the movie starring Dwayne Johnson which is all set to hit screens shortly. The game is visually impressive with decent graphics and offers an authentic arena experience.

Hercules: The Official Game Review

The title comes from Glu games, a developer known for their engaging games. It is definitely not one of their best but the game stays true to the genre of the ‘Gladiator’ where the objective is to hack n slash to kill your opponents. It doesn’t have any deviating missions or controls to take care of that make it a great game to play on the move.

Great Choice of Heroes and Attacks

Hercules: The Official Game offers a wide range of heroes from which you can make a choice. The attacks are varied as well ranging from simple melee to ranged attacks with bow and arrows as well as magic attacks that could stun your enemy. The computer based AI combatants offer enough challenge where you can hone your skills before entering the multiplayer arena.

The ‘Fighting Pit’ is the online multiplayer option the game offers where you could compete against friends or strangers in an arena style match. When we tried to connect it had some hiccups, maybe because the game is barely new and doesn’t have much downloads in our location yet. It should work better in the coming days, we believe.

A unique attack system has been introduced in this Android game where you don’t keep slashing your sword but rather watch for signals from the enemy. Then, you have to decide whether to attack or defend yourself. After you successfully block some blows and attack, the enemy will get tried which is when you strike a series of blows to bring him down. There’s also a ‘Rage’ attack available when your rage bar is full which comes in handy to finish off your opponent.

Hercules: The Official Game is similar to titles like Blood and Gory, and Dragon Slayer which glorifies raw action on mobile devices. If you love those titles and enjoy helping Hercules complete the twelve feats, you will find this game engrossing.
