The great thing about owning a smartphone is the variety of apps you can have on your device. While all of those applications cater to the different needs of a user and vary from one device to the next, when it comes to instant internet messaging, most users opt for Whatsapp.
How to Customize Whatsapp Using Xposed Framework
With millions of users checking their Whatsapp daily, it goes without saying that not all of them utilize the app for the same purpose. For some, the app offers a great means to send instant messages to their friends and family. For others, it is a great way to send small voice snippets and/or share pictures of cats and what not to their contacts. No matter what you use the app for, chances are that you won’t use all the features in the app. Like for example, to me the camera and microphone icons are pretty much useless as I only use the app for sharing some gallery pics or instant messaging my friends. So it’s only natural for me to want to remove those pesky icons as they are pretty much next to useless to me.
Of course, since this is a third party app I can’t really do anything and have to suffer quietly but if you’re a user who has a rooted device with Xposed Framework installed, you can change all of that with a few simple clicks. This is all possible due to an Xposed Framework Mod called the Whatsapp mod. The mod allows users to simply remove either both the camera and microphone icons or a selective icon with ease. All the user has to do is to:
- Flash in the mod to their device like any other non-market apk
- Activate it from the Xposed Installer.
- Once activated, choose the icons you want to get rid of and restart your device. Voila, those pesky icons will be no more.
Yes, I do know that not many users rock a rooted device with Xposed Framework installed but for those of us that do, this is really a nifty mod that can enhance our messaging experience by allowing us to customize Whatsapp with ease.
