There have been quite a few number of strange alarm clocks apps that are available on the Play Store. While some of these apps employ some unique and innovative way to wake someone up, others tend to take a wackier approach to the whole thing. From solving puzzles to shaking your device like mad, we’ve seen it all, or that’s what we thought until we laid our hands on SpinMe Alarm Clock.
Review: SpinMe Alarm Clock – Spin Around to Wake Up!
SpinMe Alarm Clock is a novelistic alarm clock app that has users spin around twice while holding their device to turn the alarm off. The app has seen some success over at Apple’s App Store and now hopes to see the same on Android. Now, I don’t know about you but honestly getting dizzy the first thing in the morning just might not be the best and smartest thing to do.
Anyhow, the app is pretty easy to use and even comes with a tutorial that is aimed to teach the user how to turn the alarm off. Personally, I was surprised by the app’s simplistic UI which didn’t really need any getting used to, which is quite a plus point for almost any app. Apart from its unique way to turn off the alarm, there’s no other unique feature in the app as it comes with the standard options you would expect from any run of the mill alarm clock app available on the Play Store.
Of course, for many people getting dizzy might be the best thing to do in the morning but I personally couldn’t really get used to the whole idea as I just fell down on the bed after spinning out of sheer dizziness once I had turned the alarm off. Also since there’s no other way to turn the alarm off, it can get pretty silly especially if you’re in a public place and the alarm goes off. All in all, the app does come with a unique way for most heavy sleepers to wake up but with its various short comings, I wasn’t really all that impressed with the app. In any case, if you’re looking for a way to ensure that you wake up every morning, I guess trying the SpinMe Alarm Clock app out won’t be the worst thing in the world especially considering that it’s free to use.
